-I have moved on – Awesu

Following the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja, on Friday, over the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat, the eventual winner, Mr Shittu AbdulKareem has said that he will use the victory to unify the party.

Shittu, who said that the victory will be used to form an alliance rather than seeing it as a win, spoke with THE IMPACT hours after the ruling.

“Thanks to God Almighty for the ruling. We will use it to work towards unifying the party”, he said.

“We won’t see it as a win, but use it in working towards forming an alliance with other PDP members and stakeholders and together, work for the victory of the party in the next election”, the PDP candidate for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency said.

In his own brief response, Awesu said that he has accepted the judgement of the apex court.

“I have moved on, my bro”, he simply said while pleading that he would speak with our reporter later.

With the judgement, Shittu will now direct his focus to winning the next general election for his party, but he will have to deal with other seven candidates from other parties, especially the popular and performing incumbent, Rep. Babajimi Benson of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
